Margaret Lawler Stott passed peacefully at home on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Born September 7, 1935 in Riverdale, NY, beloved daughter of Dr. John A. and Margaret D. Lawler.

Peggy attended Elizabeth Ann Seton High School and The
College of New Rochelle - where she was described in her yearbook this way: "a disarming laugh and eagerness to please, coupled with an unfailing competence and high intelligence, [made] Peggy distinctive. Naturally poised, she [played] well a trio of roles: efficient leader, determined athlete, and warm-heartened friend." She attended graduate school at Columbia University, where she met her husband William R. Stott, Jr.
They were married in 1959 at St lgnatius Loyola in New York City.

She is predeceased by her brothers John A. Lawler, Jr. of Wellsley, MA and George E. Lawler of Riverdale, NY. Her sister Mary Alicia McRae resides in Salinas, CA.

Peggy is survived by Bill, her devoted husband of 59 years and their five children: William R. Stott, III, Stasia Stott Reynolds (Patrick), Christopher John Stott (Tracy), Rachel Irene Stott (Steve), Alexa Margaret Stott (Greg) and eleven grandchildren Alma, Liam, Conor, Emmet, Owen, Aidan, Zoe, Nathaniel, Margaret Ann, Fiona, Eamonn.
The family will receive friends at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Monday, February 13 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11900 Lawyers Rd., Reston, VA on Tuesday, February 14 at 10 AM. Interment Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

Consummately graceful, Peggy is always a lady.
